With these technological advancements, it would seem that e-wastes have come at a faster rate than ever imagined. The term e-waste generally refers to any discarded electronic devices that are computers, smartphones, and television among others. It has been termed one of the environmental challenges that pose dangers on health and ecological security mainly because of poor management of e-waste.

Shocking Statistics

1. Global E-Waste Generation :

The global rate of generation of e-waste during 2018 is around 50 million tons, whereas at 2030; that has increased to 74 million tons.

2. E-Waste Generation through India :

India contributes around more than 3 million tonnes in this, and that also happens at the YoY rate of 30%.

3. Institute Recycling of E-Waste :

More than 95% of the e-wastes in India are being recycled through unorganized sectors, with grave health hazards to the workers and the environment also.
