MECCA AND MADINAH

Mecca and Medina : The heartlands of Islam

RIDA ZAINAB

Mecca and Medina are the two holy cities of Saudi Arabia. The birthplace of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is Mecca, where lies the holiest shrine of Islam, known as the Kaaba. Medina is the last place of the rest of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.V.). There is the Mosque of the Prophet (Al-Masjid al-Nabavi).

Pilgrimage and spiritual meaning

Millions of Muslims come to Mecca and Madin annually for Hajj and Umra. These cities offer some exclusively mental experiences that contribute to bonding, brotherhood, and further bonding with Islam.

I remember the key

1. Mecca and Medina are the most sacred towns in Islam.
2. Both towns offer a unique spiritual experience.
3. Pilgrimages towards these towns enhance bonding and fraternity.
