Satellites-the eyes and ears of the New World

Satellites now are part and parcel of our daily life and offer each of us an array of services we take so lightly. Of course, it is essential that navigation, communication, weather forecasting, remote sensing among many other applications of satellites will make the present article interesting as it looks into this satellite world: history, types, and application as well as impacts on our everyday life.

History of Satellites

The Soviet Union launched the first satellite into orbit in 1957 and brought about the age of space. Until now, thousands of satellites have been launched to orbit space. Some of them included one of the first countries that launched its first satellite: United States, Russia, and China. In the modern age of satellite communication, the Intelsat 1 was launched as the first commercial satellite in 1965.

Types of Satellites

Here are some of the major categories of common satellites defined below:

1. Satellite of Communication :

Used to transfer data also audio and video communications over wide areas of the space. Thus according to this utility provides broadcasting TVs; mobile telecommunication, and also internet accesses are provided.
